I have designed a number of sites as a hobbyist graphic/web designer. Amongst those, the following have been highlighted.
Charlie’s Server
My server’s homepage features graphics made mostly, believe it or not, in the GIMP, with hand-crafted HTML and CSS. For a while, the Charlie’s server site was fully scripted in PHP for templated niceness, but this endeavour has since been abandoned in favor of a straightforward (mostly static) HTML layout with links to this blog for dynamic content such as news and updates.
Sara’s Pockets
The official home of my favorite restaurant in the Storrs, CT area, Sara’s Pockets was a quick-and-dirty site done entirely in RapidWeaver using a default template. I needed something quick and didn’t have much time, and RapidWeaver certainly came though. Granted, this was back in the days before iWeb, but even still, RapidWeaver holds its own as a reasonably easy to use amatuer web design system.
Blog on Charlie’s Server
This very blog is one of the sites I’ve worked hard on for some time. Starting off with a simple Kubrick template, then really taking flight with heavy K2 modifications, it has evolved into what you see now. Mostly Photoshop and pure css, this one’s a constant work in progress.
